Weir High Football has officially hired their third different head coach in three years for this upcoming season.

In the last three years, they have had Frank Sissini, Quincy Wilson, and now Weir High has hired assistant principal Chris Hill. He recently was the assistant coach for Weir High and chose to step up to coach this struggling team.
There has been mostly positive feedback on the hiring of Hill, with 65% of students approving of the selection in a recent schoolwide survey sent out to Weir High School.
“I think that the coaches have a big impact and that having coach Hill will help them be good this year,” said Bella Heubel, sophomore.
On top of that, players and brothers Zackary Howland and Daniel Howland expressed how challenging it was to learn three different systems in three years.
“It was weird to have the change learning new systems each year, but I feel like it was needed for the better, and I think Coach Hill will be a great fit and be a really good coach,” said Zackary Howland, sophomore.
Senior Daniel Howland said, “Having three different coaches made me better at adapting to new things…I think it shaped me to be more expecting and ready for life.”
Weir High has struggled in the past couple seasons with a total of 1 win in the last 2 seasons, but Hill is no stranger to a good football team. He has been a part of many successful programs and looks to make Weir High a competitive football team this upcoming season, stating his goal is to win a championship. He said that starts in the offseason, lifting, learning the offense, and the players developing their character. He plans to start fresh with this team, saying they are going to “go back to the basics.”
