The halftime show, headlined by Bad Bunny with guests Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin was characterized as culturally significant, and spreads a message about unity and equality.
There were many positive reactions to the Super Bowl this year. Bad Bunny’s performance was about love, equality, and the struggles that other cultures face.
There was an alternative “All American” show which featured Kid Rock that did not reach half as many views as Bad Bunny’s performance. Bad Bunny’s show reached 128.2 million watchers, while Kid Rocks had 6 million.
There was some negative feedback from Donald Trump and others, claiming it was an “affront to American greatness” even though the purpose of the show was to spread a message about culture and Latin history. During the end of the half time show, a message was displayed saying, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.” Which is a statement I think a lot of people can agree on.
This performance showed a lot of symbolism and history about Latin and Puerto Rican culture.
