A new chapter of student leadership is beginning in the National Honor Society (NHS) as new leaders step forward with a shared goal of helping members make a positive difference in their community.
Kaydence Cain, the current NHS president, said her motivation for becoming a leader comes from wanting to help others grow and contribute. “I want to be
able to help other members make a difference in the community,” she said, showing that service and teamwork are important priorities for her.
Vice President Landon Donaldson said he saw the position as a good opportunity for both himself and others to grow. “It seemed like a good opportunity to help out the community and grow my leadership skills,” he explained. He also said he is ready to support the needs of others in any way he can. “I want to do whatever I can to help the president and members with their duties,” he added.
NHS Treasurer Guy Meneely also shared his goals and inspiration for taking on his role. “My main goals for NHS this year are to help all of our members become more involved in our community and for myself to really make a difference by helping those who truly need it,” Meneely said. He explained that he wanted to help improve both the school and the community. “I thought, what better way to do this than by helping lead a program like the National Honor Society,” he added.
Under the new leadership, NHS hopes to expand its community service efforts by focusing on projects that support local organizations and residents. The officers also want to create more opportunities for members to take active roles in the group, helping them build confidence and expand their overall skills.
As the school year continues, students and faculty are excited to see how the new leaders will shape NHS goals. With a strong commitment to service and a passion for leadership, the officers are determined to make a lasting impact on both the organization and the community around them.
