Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is a club for students to get business experience before college. FBLA has planned hoco and their Fall Leadership Conference (FLC) so far this year. They have done these things to become a better club. FBLA did these things by fundraising.
Business educator and FBLA advisor Candice Dotson Said “FBLA has been vigorously engaged in numerous fundraisers, events, and networking throughout the year. We are coming into the season where we prepare for competition at the State level.”
Junior and VicePresident Aiden Reed Said “Hoco was a success and FLC was super fun we all had a blast.”

“I am pleased with the outcome of the fundraiser. We raised over $500 for pediatric cancer and that does my heart good. A lot of work was put into the event by my leadership team, and a good time was had by all! And it goes without saying – I did NOT expect the Jimmi Hendrix version of the Star-Spangled Banner. I think that was the highlight of the day!” Dotson said
Senior and club member Alex Palacios said “I liked the people involved and the planning process that had a lot of creativity behind it when it came to homecoming. The fall leadership conference had me meet a lot of people and develop networking skills to get connections within industries. As for the 3v3 game idk.”

Sophomore and club member Taryn Arnold “What I loved about the Hoco decorating: I loved seeing people get together and combining their creativity to make decor. Fall leadership conference: It was fun seeing what to kind of expect for competitions, seeing how good other schools are, and understanding to a certain extent what type of kids you are competing against. It was nice meeting a bunch of the kids from alternative schools; seeing not only their professional sides but also the fun side of them was fun too. Especially with the hunt for the s’mores that happened at the end of the day, which in my opinion, was hilarious. 3v3: I didn’t watch the game; however, I sold tickets for it. It was nice seeing people get together to form a team. Also seeing the enthusiasm and excitement from fellow students about the 3v3 game was nice.”
Junior and club member Josiah Calauad said “I loved how dedicated everyone to be doing their job to get things done the correct way during these events for FBLA. It’s just our leadership team are so experienced that made the process go smoothly. At FLC meeting the West Virginia leaders of FBLA taught me about FBLA what it means to be a business leader.”
This years FBLA officers are Alivia Raveaux as President, VicePresident Aiden Reed, Secretary Abbigail Hunt, Treasurer Alea White, Historian Kaylee Greathouse, and Parliamentarian Andrew Sikora.
A few things FBLA is going to be preparing for will be their spring conference. They also will be fundraising to attend this year. FBLA’s 2026 resolution would be to better inform Weir High who they are as a club and to be a bigger, better club.
You can join FBLA by getting in contact with one of the officers or by emailing or talking to Ms. Dotson in room A308.
