Weir High received 6 new teachers at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. We are so grateful for all of our teachers and staff that put their time into helping our student body learn every day. Weir is very excited to welcome all the new teachers, and we can’t wait to see what they will do in the upcoming years.
In the math department, Weir welcomed Mr. Lewis. He teaches algebra 2 for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Mr. Lewis has been an educator for 20 years and for 11 and a half of those years he worked here at Weir High. He states, “The cohesiveness throughout the staff is something special about Weir High”. During the rest of the year, he says he is most excited for preparing his juniors for the SAT in the spring. He’s also an amazing coach for the girls track team and is looking forward to the upcoming season. His favorite quality about Weir High is the athletics, he says “The athletes are very hard working and very dedicated. They want to see themselves improve from week to week and I look forward to seeing that.”
For health and physical education, we were given 2 new teachers Dr. Hudson and Ms. Randazzo. Dr. Hudson teaches 10th grade health and strength and conditioning for all grades. She has been an educator for over 20 years and wanted to come to Weir to be a part of rebuilding our athletics and strengthening athletes. She likes seeing her students in her conditioning classes add weights and work hard to become stronger. She says, ‘’ I love all the students in my health class, their willingness to be authentic and to share their stories with me and with each other and having them show meaning in their life.” Ms. Randazzo teaches physical education for all grades. She has been an educator for 10 years. She came to Weir High for a change of scenery and is most excited for student interaction.
Now for special education we have three new teachers, Ms. Stroud, Mrs. Kimberland, and Ms. Taylor. Mrs. Kimberland teaches self-contained special education for all grades. She’s been an educator for 9 years. She’s is most excited about watching her children grow and having the high school teaching experience and how it works. One thing she loves about being Weir is how Quincy Wilson is the football coach because her dad coached him when he was in high school. Ms. Stroud teaches English 9-12 and has been an educator for 11 years. She is most excited about working with students that she taught in 3rd grade at Weirton Elementary School. Ms. Stroud says she likes everyone’s involvement and the sports. Ms. Taylor co- teaches algebra and English grades 9th, 10th, and 12th. She’s been an educator since 2003, and she worked at Weir High from 2010 to 2012. She’s most excited about being back and she loves her coworkers and students.
Weir is happy to welcome our new and returning teachers to Weir High, and we can’t wait to see what you do as educators and amazing people. We wish you all an amazing year and more to come. Thank you for all you do.
