On Thursday, March 28, the Weir High music department brings a new experience to Weir High!

The Weir High wind ensemble brings film to the stage with the inaugural WHS Bands Pops Concert. Directed by Doug Torres, the band will play pieces from numerous movies including Harry Potter and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The band has been working on the selection for a bit now and is excited to share with the community.

In a Facebook post, Torres said, “This concert will be interactive, so hold on to your hats and come enjoy a night of Movies with the WHS Wind Ensemble!!”

The concert is a fundraiser for new uniforms designed by Emily Hores’ fashion design class last semester. The official uniform designs will be put on display at the event for all attending to see.

The Weir High music department hopes to see many in attendance at 7 pm on March 28. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $3 for 65+, children 5-12, and military/veterans/first responders.
