Snow White Auditions

Everything you need to know

Tanner Finsley, Weir Student Media Staff

Every year, Weir High’s Drama Club bands together to create a play for the school to enjoy. This year, the club will be adding Snow White to its catalogue of shows. The club sponsor, Corey Miller, will be conducting casting auditions for the show on September 15th at 3:00 pm, in room A202.

            The auditions will be used to cast characters such as Snow White, the Seven Dwarves, the Evil Queen, and even more for the night of the Fall show.

When asking  Miller why he chose to do Snow White, he stated;

             “Snow White is a classic fairy tale. It was popularized by Walt Disney and helped launch the Disney brand that we all know today. Performing a piece of children’s theater will draw a large audience of all ages to Weir High School. Hopefully, it helps to build our core audience within the community, and it may inspire future performers (middle/elementary students) within our school system. The show offers our female club members a chance to play several strong female leads. Many shows feature strong male leads, but the women’s parts are reduced to stereotypes or short roles in general. I felt that it was time to let our actresses shine for once. Likewise, the seven dwarves offer our male students opportunities to explore comedic roles.”

         Weir High Drama Club welcomes anybody that is interested in participating in either acting or stage work to attend auditions!
