It’s a Wrap!
Charlie Brown cast reflects on performance.
December 20, 2021
The Weir High production of Charlie Brown Christmas has concluded. After months of hard work and preparation, the cast and crew successfully put on their production of A Charlie Brown Christmas the weekend of December 3rd and 4th.
The Drama Club profited over $1,000. There isn’t an exact number of how many tickets sold or how many people came. But many people came to support the show. Both nights the auditorium was as full as possible with social distancing guidelines in place. Masks were required to help prevent the spread of COVID. There was a slightly bigger crowd on Friday night than on Saturday. Both nights many people were buzzing with excitement after the show and gave good reviews afterwards. A couple of cast members were even asked for autographs.
“The cast showed incredible determination and teamwork. It is clear to the audience that there is a next level bond within the club; everyone treated one another as family. Their combined skills and communication allowed the group to put on a smooth and entertaining performance.” Ireland Emery stated after the show. “It was very professional. I could tell the students worked really hard. I would go see another show at Weir High.” Karen Keenan exclaimed after the show ended. “A Charlie Brown Christmas was a huge success. Many local families chose to start their holiday season by attending our show. We had a wonderful group of students involved in the production. The Drama Club would like to thank the adults who volunteered their time to help as well.” Director Corey Miller expressed when the show finished up.
A few cast members were interviewed, here are their thoughts and feelings.
Tanner Finsley (who played Linus) answered, “I guess the ending sequence was the hardest, but everything else went good for me.”
Jason Lipovich (who played Charlie Brown) responded with, “My favorite part of the show, wasn’t the show but, hanging out with and getting to know everyone here. And being friends with everyone because that’s who I consider everyone who was in the show.”
Leanna Bissett (who played Pigpen and Narrator 1) said, “Friday, I think we all did really well and had a better audience.”
Haley Mazon (who played Frieda) was quoted saying, “I thought rehearsals brought everyone together, but there is nothing like the bonding everyone feels when they’re sharing the anxiety, they feel with each other right before the first show night.”
Next for Drama Club is Slapdash, an improv show that the thespians put on. It’s normally springtime when it happens , so stay tuned for that!
