Senior Max Wood has already accomplished big things this W.Va students to be named a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist.
Max stated, “I found out about two weeks before school started when I was checking my scores to see if I got it.”
Not only is Wood intelligent but he is also very involved with a visible work ethic. He is a member of the boy’s soccer team along with a national honors society, student council, quiz bowl and he is an academic games participant. English Teacher and Academic Games advisor Betty Smith-Montgomery has had Wood in Academic Games since middle school and as a student from his freshman to senior year. Watching him grow physically and academically. She stated, “he strives hard to do everything to the best of his ability.”
He said he was very happy about his accomplishment. He now has to write an essay to submit along with his SAT scores and somethings about student life to then see if he gets moved on to be a finalist.
