Seniors Maleea Faulks, Catherine Glodowski, Damir Mowder and Max wood attended the 2024 Chick-fil-A & WVSSAC Leadership Summit on Sept. 18 at the Mon County Center in Morgantown W.Va. These students were chose by athletic director Mr.Blumette, They were chosen based off of an email sent to sports coaches, coaches were asked to recommend students based on their athletic participation, academic success, and leadership qualities.
At this convention, Chick-fil-A executives presented about leadership structure, training, and methods. Students also had the opportunity to participate in some activities with students from other schools in a non-competitive environment.
Blumette stated, “The hope is that these leadership skills and strategies that they talked about and were taught about, they can bring back to their teams and to the school.” The outcome of the convention was very successful and came with many benefits to the students and also to our school. Faulks said , “I feel like it was very beneficial because it taught me good leadership skills and how I can benefit my communication skills to younger athletes.”
